Despite winning $7.5 million in last night’s Oz Lotto draw, a hardworking Carrum Downs man is still heading into work today but admits he may be a little distracted

The Melbourne man held one of the four division one winning entries in Oz Lotto draw 1396 on Tuesday 17 November 2020. Each division one entry won a prize of $7.5 million.

Confirming his win with an official from The Lott this morning, the surprised man recounted how he discovered his multi-million-dollar win.

“Thank you, thank you!” he laughed.

“I just found out! I saw your email and so I checked my online account.

“I was very happy! I screamed out to my wife and showed her.

“She broke down into tears. She can’t believe it! She just keeps saying how unbelievable it is.

“I called my brother before I called you too. He was very shocked!

“I just feel so overwhelmed. I can’t believe this has happened!

“I will take my family out for a nice dinner tonight to celebrate.

“But now, I have to go to work. Celebrations can’t begin until tonight unfortunately. But I’ll be in a much better mood at work now and maybe a little distracted!”

When asked how he intended to enjoy his prize, the overjoyed winner admitted he had plenty of plans.

“I am going to buy a house,” he shared.

“I want to share my prize with my family too. I have a very big family, so I can’t wait to break the news to them.

“I will invest some as well. We might look at getting an investment property.

“We’ll do lots of travelling too! As soon as we can go overseas, we will plan a big trip around Asia.”

The thrilled player, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning 18-game QuickPick entry online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
