A hardworking Goolwa man devoured more than just a steak when he was at his local pub for smoko – picking up a mouth-watering $50,000 Keno prize as well.
The South Australian scored the $50,000 Keno Spot 8 prize in draw 211125 491, drawn 25 November 2021.
Speaking with an official from The Lott this afternoon, the happy man declared he’d had an unforgettable work break.
“I was in the area working and had ducked into the pub for some smoko. I was just going to have a few drinks and a steak,” he explained.
“I was only in the venue briefly, so I’d just popped on a game as I was on my way out. It was so busy at work, so I didn’t have time to watch the draw.
“Then a few days later I went back into the pub to grab a drink, and that’s when I checked my ticket!
“I was very, very happy when I saw I’d won! It’s bloody awesome!
“I think I went into shock more than anything. I was gobsmacked.
“I still had to go back to work after that, so I couldn’t do much celebrating, but it certainly lifted my spirits.
“It’s a great win and will definitely come in handy.
“Thank you so much! It’s insane!”
The elated man shared the win couldn’t have come at a better time.
“I am nearing retirement, so this will do wonders for me,” he stated.
“I’ll pay a few of my bills too and might keep a little to spoil myself.”
The winning entry was purchased at Corio Hotel, 3 Railway Terrace, Goolwa.
Corio Hotel bar manager Adam Phillips said the entire venue congratulated their latest Keno winner.
“It’s fantastic!” he said.
“We always get so excited when a patron wins a big prize. You almost feel like you’ve won it yourself!
“All of the staff here would love to congratulate our winner on his prize. Hopefully, he gets to do some exciting things with it!
“We can’t wait till our next big win. Good luck to all of our customers. We can’t wait until it’s your turn.”
In the 12 months to 30 June 2021, there were more than 5 million Keno wins across South Australia worth more than $133.2 million. This included 37 Keno Spot 8, 9 and 10 winners who scored more than $6.37 million.
