A Mordialloc man almost missed out on his $100,000 Lucky Lotteries win after he continually declined calls from The Lott because he was in a work meeting and assumed it was scammers dialling.
The Victorian won the guaranteed 1st Prize in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10563, drawn 3 May 2022. He takes home $100,000.
An official from The Lott finally reached the hardworking man this afternoon, after he’d just discovered he won the 1st Prize.
“I was in a work meeting, and my phone kept ringing, but I couldn’t answer it,” he explained.
“At first, I assumed you were a nuisance caller, and I was going to block your number.
“But I looked up your phone number online, and it said you were from The Lott.
“Then I received an email from you directly encouraging me to check my Lucky Lotteries tickets, so I logged into my online The Lott account, and I saw the win.
“I wasn’t entirely convinced at first. It was very overwhelming!
“Once it started to sink in, I did a little happy dance and everything.
“It’s excellent news. I haven’t told my wife yet. I think I’ll surprise her this weekend with the winning news. I might even book somewhere nice for us to stay to enjoy ourselves.
“We’ve wanted to build ourselves a house, but we’ve been wondering how we could afford it.
“But now this means we can build a home – it’ll be our dream home, with walls and a roof and everything!”
His life-enhancing winning entry of five random numbers was purchased online at thelott.com – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $9.65 million for draw 1571, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $12.22 million for draw 10565.
