A Sorell mum had two things to celebrate this week – her birthday and winning $10,000 on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket gifted from her sister.
The top prize winning $1 Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at Sorell Lucky Agency, 31 Gordon Street, Sorell.
“I received this ticket as a birthday gift from my sister,” the winning woman explained when speaking with an official from The Lott.
“We always buy each other Instant Scratch-Its tickets for special occasions, like Christmas and birthdays.
“I wasn’t wearing my glasses when I scratched the ticket, so at first, I didn’t really know what I was seeing. But it looked good!
“Once I put my glasses on, I realised that it said I’d won $10,000.
“I checked the ticket about ten times because I still wasn’t sure if it was true. Then I called for my family to check the ticket as well because I didn’t trust myself.
“Once everyone confirmed that I had won, I felt very calm about it all. I felt at ease.
“It was a lovely surprise, and it will be a nice boost. I’m not sure how my sister will top this birthday present next year!
“I ordered some food from my favourite Chinese restaurant to celebrate the win and my birthday.
“I’ve already decided how I’ll use the prize. I’m going to get my daughter some braces. That can happen a lot quicker now.
“The rest I’ll use to do some small things around the house.”
The Sorell Lucky Agency team are thrilled for their winner and wish her all the best with her prize.
