A Cobar man has admitted he was absolutely “flabbergasted” over the news he’s won $200,000 in today’s Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw.
The New South Wales man won the guaranteed 1st Prize of $200,000 in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1171, drawn Wednesday 5 December 2018.
A NSW Lotteries official called the man this afternoon to break the out-of-the-blue news, after moments of silence on the other end of the phone, he finally responded.
“What?” he eventually managed to say.
“Holy sh*t. Christ. I’ve won $200,000?”
Even after the news of his win was confirmed multiple times, he remained lost for words.
“Bloody hell!”
“I’m sort of flabbergasted.
“I was just sitting here by myself at the moment, watching TV and contemplating going to the dentist.”
The New South Wales resident revealed he was a regular lotteries player but had only been playing Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot for a few weeks.
In absolute disbelief, he said he was too shocked to think of exactly how he’d spend the prize but revealed he’d always dreamt of buying a property.
“I’ve been thinking about it for a while, this is perfect timing,” he said.
“Jeez, you’re the bearer of some very good news.”
The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning entry from Cobar Newsagency, 15 Barton Street, Cobar.
Cobar Newsagency team member Colby Lawrence said the outlet was ecstatic after discovering they sold the 1st Prize winning entry.
“It’s been a little while since we’ve sold a winning entry this big, probably about six or seven years so we are absolutely over the moon,” he said.
“And it’s great that’s it’s gone to a regular, loyal customer.”
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $30.04 million for draw 1172 while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot is now $1.8 million for draw 10260.
