A Hornsby couple is planning a special dinner to celebrate becoming newly minted millionaires in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw.
The Upper North Shore resident held one of the five division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4231 on Saturday 5 February 2022 and takes home $1,184,774.80.
“Oh, thank you! I’ve been expecting your call,” the overjoyed man exclaimed when his prize was confirmed this morning by an official from The Lott.
“That’s just wonderful! How exciting!
“We weren’t sure if the win was set in stone, so I was waiting for the phone call to confirm the news.
“Straight after the draw, I logged into The Lott app to check my results on Saturday night. I always check them right after the draw.
“As soon as I saw the win, I ran to my wife to tell her the good news. She was over the moon, but we had to wait and see if it was true.
“Thank you! Thank you!”
When asked how they planned to enjoy their newfound wealth, the New South Wales man said he would put it towards their future.
“We’re retired and will re-invest the prize money for our future. We will also look at helping our children,” he said.
“Once the money is in the bank account, we will go out and have a dinner to celebrate!”
His winning System 11 Quickpick was purchased online at thelott.com – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 4231 on 5 February 2022 were 22, 9, 10, 11, 2, 37, while the supplementary numbers were 6 and 40.
