An Engadine woman has made a swift exit from work and tried her very best to remain cool, calm, and collected after discovering she’d won a dazzling $200,000 in a recent Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw.
The south Sydney resident held the 1st Prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1708, drawn Wednesday 23 July 2025. She looks forward to a clean $200,000 prize.
When speaking to an official from The Lott, the stunned winner confessed she could barely focus at work as she dreamed of early retirement.
“I’m still coming to terms with it all!” she cheered.
“I checked my ticket using The Lott app, and I saw I’d won $200,000. All I could think was, ‘Oh my god!’.
“I was at work so I couldn’t fully react. I had to leave the office and take myself for a walk to calm down.
“I called my husband, and I said to him, ‘I think I’ve just won the lottery!’.
“It was a crazy feeling. I’ve never won anything big before in my entire life.
“It was a very long afternoon after that. I could barely focus.”
With $200,000 soon to boost her bank account, the winning woman shared she planned to be sensible with her prize and use it to fast-track her retirement.
“I want to be sensible with the prize. I want to see a financial advisor and make sure I get the most out of it,” she said.
“It’s certainly going to help speed up my retirement.
“I’d also like to do a little something fun with it. Maybe a little family holiday down the line.
“I’m still trying to get my head around it all.”
Her winning entry of two consecutive numbers was purchased via The Lott app – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $10.48 million for draw 1709, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $890,003 for draw 11031.
In 2024, 147 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot winning entries across Australia won more than $52.2 million.
Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.
Each game has two draws – one that determines the winning numbers and one that determines the jackpot number. If the jackpot number matches one of the winning numbers, then the Jackpot Prize is won. If the jackpot number does not match one of the winning numbers, the Jackpot Prize will climb for the next draw.
Tickets can be purchased at any licenced lottery outlet, online from thelott.com or via The Lott mobile app.
