A Port Adelaide man has had the wake up call everyone dreams of, receiving the news he won $1 million in last night’s Wednesday X Lotto draw.
The Adelaide winner held one of two division one winning entries nationally in Monday & Wednesday X Lotto draw 3997, drawn Wednesday 5 August 2020. He takes home a division one prize of $1 million.
Speaking to an official from the Lott this morning, the happy man admitted he was still half asleep and had no idea he’d won an incredible $1 million.
“Oh my god, have I won something?” he questioned.
“You just woke me up. But it’s all good. If this is a call I’m thinking it is, you can call me anytime!
“God I am all flustered now. No, no way!
“Oh my god!
“This is fantastic! I had no idea.
“Is this real?
“I am not alright! This is insane!
“This is a huge shock.
“This will change my life completely.
“I’m a millionaire? I never thought that would happen!
“I might have to take the day off work. I’ll have to do some celebrating!”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his million-dollar windfall, the elated man said despite needing some time to think, he did have a few ideas.
“I will give some to my kids and I’d like to buy a house,” he shared.
“I’ll have to do something to spoil myself as well, but I don’t know what that will be yet!”
The thrilled player, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his 25-game QuickPick entry online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
Winner still yet to claim million-dollar prize
The Lott is still on the hunt for a Saturday X Lotto winner who scored a division one prize of $1,053,905.78 in draw 4069 on Saturday 18 July 2020.
The winning entry, which was not registered to an Easiplay Club card, was purchased from newsXpress Naracoorte, 118 Smith Street, Naracoorte.
The Lott spokesperson Ally Ramsamy said the mystery winner could be oblivious to the fact their winning entry was in their pocket, in their purse or stuck on the fridge.
“There are over one million reasons why you should check your ticket today!” she said.
“You may not think it’s possible you could be the division one winner we’re searching for, but if you purchased an unregistered entry in X Lotto draw 4069 that you haven’t checked yet, you’re in with a chance!
“We’re urging all X Lotto players to check their entries as soon as possible and if you discover you are holding the division one winning ticket to contact the Lott on 131 868 to begin the process of claiming your prize.”
The winning numbers in Wednesday X Lotto draw 3997 on Wednesday 5 August 2020 were 40, 18, 11, 14, 10 and 39, while the supplementary numbers were 34 and 23.
Across Australia, there were two division one winning entries in Wednesday X Lotto draw 3997 – one from South Australia and one from Victoria.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 236 so far this calendar year, including 21 won by SA Lotteries customers.
Between 1 July 2019 and 30 June 2020, there were 101 division one winning Monday & Wednesday Lotto entries across Australia, which collectively won $98 million.
