A Coomera couple who have always had to ‘work hard and save’ are excitedly planning to live life to the fullest after winning the First Prize in Set for Life last night, pocketing $20,000 a month for the next 20 years.
The couple’s 4 SET QuickPick entry was the only First Prize winning entry in Set for Life draw 1292, drawn on Monday 19 February 2019.
Speaking to a Golden Casket official this morning to break the news of their win, the Gold Coast couple admitted they are feeling overwhelmed after discovering they are now Set for Life.
“You’re joking?” the husband questioned.
“Oh god! I really don’t know how to feel. I am shocked!
“I don’t know how I am going to go about the rest of the day.
“I am going to have to do some work and really think about it, let it sink in.
“I saw the numbers on TV last night when I was lying in bed.
“I saw we had some of the winning numbers because I remembered what my numbers were. But I didn’t think I had all the numbers!”
“Wow! $20,000 a month for 20 years,” the wife continued.
“Oh dear me! This is just wonderful!
“We’re feeling very overwhelmed, dumbfounded. We need to let it sink it in.
“I’m going to go collapse on the bed now!”
The happy woman declared the win would be life changing for the couple.
“We’ve had to work hard and save all our life so this will completely change our life,” she shared.
“We’ll be able to do what we really want to do now. We won’t have to worry about money!
“We are excited to be able to really live our lives.”
When asked how they planned to spend their win, the humble couple said that a holiday was on the horizon.
“I always said if I had the money I’d buy a new car, so now I can,” the Gold Coast man exclaimed.
“We want to do some more trips around Australia – we love the outback!
“Then we will celebrate by going out for a seafood feast. We might try out some different seafood restaurants throughout the Gold Coast.”
The happy couple, who wish to remain anonymous, purchased their winning 4 SET QuickPick entry at News Extra Coomera, Shop B1, Coomera City Centre, Corner of Old Coach Road and Days Road, Coomera.
News Extra Coomera employee Hollie Warde said they were thrilled to have delivered a Set for Life First Prize win to one of their customers.
“I am very excited,” she said.
“We are extremely happy for the couple and wish them all the best with their prize.

The winning numbers in Set for Life draw 1292 were 9, 4, 2, 24, 3, 7, 21, 32, while the bonus numbers were 22, 17.
Across Australia, the Queensland winner held only winning entry that won First Prize in Set for Life draw 1292 on 18 February 2019.
In the 12 months to 30 June 2018, there were 19 Set for Life First Prize winners across Australia who will collectively receive $91.2 million during the next 20 years.
