A woman from Dandenong was surprised to learn that a phone call she initially believed related to her click-and-collect order was instead a $200,000 win in a Lucky Lotteries draw.
The Melbourne resident held the 1st Prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1719, drawn Thursday 18 September 2025 and looks forward to a dreamy $200,000.
Remarkably, the winning woman scored the 1st Prize win on a free ticket she won from an earlier draw.
“I’m very happy you’ve called me back!” she screamed when an official from The Lott called.
“I’ll be honest, I thought you were calling about my click and collect order the first time. Then I listened to your voicemail, and I couldn’t believe I’d ignored a lottery official.
“I’m over the moon! It’s life-changing for my family.
“Unbelievably, it was a free ticket that I won on. It goes to show, you really only need one number to be in it with a chance to win.
“I’m just speechless right now.”
With $200,000 soon to boost her bank account, the winning woman was looking forward to giving her bathroom some overdue attention.
“Right about now, my ensuite is very happy I’ve won $200,000,” she said.
“After 31 years, we’ll finally be able to give it a renovation.
“This is just fantastic! It’s so welcomed and we’re feeling very grateful.”
The winning free ticket was from The Lott website – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $13.12 million for draw 1720, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $500,000 for draw 11040.
In FY25, 182 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot Prize winning entries across Australia won more than $20.5 million.
Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.
Each game has two draws – one that determines the winning numbers and one that determines the jackpot number. If the jackpot number matches one of the winning numbers, then the Jackpot Prize is won. If the jackpot number does not match one of the winning numbers, the Jackpot Prize will climb for the next draw.
Tickets can be purchased at any licenced lottery outlet, online from thelott.com or via The Lott mobile app.
