A Nowra man has kicked off 2021 with an extra $10,000 in his bank account after scratching one of the top prizes on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket.

The top prize winning $1 ticket was purchased at Foodworks Worrigee, 60 Isa Road, Worrigee.

Sharing his excitement with an official from The Lott this morning, the regular player said he couldn’t think of a better way to start the year.

“2021 is certainly looking up,” he said.

“I bought the ticket with some change I had in my pocket and couldn’t believe it when I scratched it.

“I checked it over and over again, and then got everyone else to check it as well!

“It was very exciting.

“We’re going to use it to get ahead and pay a few bills. It’s a great feeling!”

Foodworks Worrigee owner Allen De Costa said the win marked a special milestone for the outlet.

“We’ve been opened for just over 12 months now and this is the first top prize winning ticket we’ve sold.

“We’re so happy for our winner and hope this is the beginning of plenty more big prizes for our customers.

“Congratulations to them!”

In 2020, there were 177 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across The Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $16 million in top prizes.

During this same time, Instant Scratch-Its players enjoyed more than 32.3 million wins across all prize tiers worth more than $281.17 million. This equates to more than three-quarters of a million dollars won on Instant Scratch-Its every day.
