A Kilmore man now knows it pays to always wear his glasses after initially misreading his $550,000 TattsLotto win as a $500 prize!
The happy man held one of the nine division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4081, drawn Saturday 29 August 2020. Each entry took home a division one prize of $555,248.73.
Speaking with an official from the Lott this morning, the overjoyed man relayed the moment he made the exciting discovery.
“I checked it late on Saturday night,” he explained.
“I didn’t realised what I’d won at first.
“I thought I won $500. I had to go put my glasses on because I couldn’t see properly.
“That’s when I realised!
“I started shaking and sweating! I was so shocked.
“I just couldn’t believe it.
“Well you can imagine what my Saturday night was like after that.
“We went and cracked open a bottle and celebrated all night long!
“We were cheering and just having such a good time.
“I enjoyed a nice sleep on Sunday. When I woke up, I thought it was a dream, but I am glad it isn’t!”
When asked how he intended to enjoy his win, the elated man said he’d already spent the weekend making plans.
“I am going to pay the house off,” he shared.
“We definitely want to do some travelling when we can. We’d love to do some big trips throughout Europe, but obviously those plans are on hold for now.
“In times like these, this win really just means so much.”
The regular player, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his entry at Kilmore Authorised Newsagency, 41 Sydney Street, Kilmore.
Kilmore Authorised Newsagency employee Mary Nagothu said the outlet couldn’t be happier for their winner.
“We are very excited!” she said.
“What an incredible win for our customer.
“We wish him all the very best and hope he truly enjoys it.
“Earlier this year we sold a division one win in Oz Lotto. Hopefully we sell more major prizes to our customers soon. It’s always so exciting.”
Last financial year, TattsLotto created 127 millionaires across Australia.
The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4081 on Saturday 29 August 2020 were 16, 13, 25, 44, 40 and 20 while the supplementary numbers were 4 and 28.
Across Australia, there were nine division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4081 – four from Victoria, two from New South Wales, two from Western Australia, and one from Queensland.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 267 so far this calendar year, including 106 won by Tatts customers.
