A Lalor local has become a newly-minted millionaire overnight after scoring division one in last night’s Wednesday Lotto draw.
The mystery player held one of the two division one winning entries nationally in Wednesday Lotto draw 3997, drawn Wednesday 5 August 2020. Each division one winner takes home a division one prize of $1 million.
How the winner plans to enjoy their future as a millionaire will forever remain a mystery as they have chosen to stay anonymous and celebrate in private.
The winning entry was sold at Lalor Lucky Lotto, 332 Station Street, Lalor.
Lalor Lucky Lotto team member Tina Gatto said it was welcome news for the community.
“We’re obviously in very strange times at the moment and people are really doing it tough, so this win has brought some excitement to the community,” she said.
“We’ve sold plenty of major prize winning entries over the last few months.

Last financial year, Monday & Wednesday Lotto created 86 millionaires across Australia.
The winning numbers in Wednesday Lotto draw 3997 on Wednesday 5 August 2020 were 40, 18, 11, 14, 10 and 39, while the supplementary numbers were 34 and 23.
Across Australia, there were two division one winning entries in Wednesday Lotto draw 3997 – one from South Australia and one from Victoria.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 236 so far this calendar year, including 94 won by Tatts customers.
Between 1 July 2019 and 30 June 2020, there were 101 division one winning Monday & Wednesday Lotto entries across Australia, which collectively won $98 million.
