A Langwarrin woman almost didn’t buy her division one winning Set for Life admitting she "felt off" that day, but her intuition convinced her it could hold the $4.8 million prize.

The Melburnian held the only division one winning entry nationally in Set for Life draw 3189, drawn Monday 29 April 2024.

She looks forward to $4.8 million paid in instalments of $20,000 a month for the next 20 years.

The long-time Set for Life enthusiast came forward to claim her prize this morning and told officials from The Lott that the exhilarating news came with a few side effects, including ‘loss of appetite’ and ‘light headedness’.

“I feel sick, but happy sick!” she laughed.

“I am hungry, but I can’t come to terms with eating! I’m shaking, it’s bizarre. Truly bizarre.

“I discovered it this morning when my husband gave me a call because he heard someone had won division one in Set for Life and he knows I enjoy playing the game.

“He said, ‘Someone in Victoria has won Set for Life!’ and I immediately thought it was me. I said to him, ‘It’s me! It’s got to be me!’.

“As soon as I got off the phone with him, I grabbed the ticket off the fridge to check it. I called him back immediately and I said to him, ‘You need to be calm. I won Set for Life!’.

“Once I got off the phone to my husband it truly hit me. I was in tears, shaking. My dog was concerned and kept coming up to me to see if I was okay.

“I said to my dog, ‘S***! You won’t believe me, but I won! I gave him a Schmako, but now he can have endless Schmakos!

“I thought to myself, ‘Who do I tell? Who do I phone?’. It doesn’t feel real.

“You wouldn’t believe it. I wasn’t feeling myself when I purchased the Set for Life ticket on Saturday, and I had no emotional energy – I couldn’t be bothered to get out of the house.

“But I had this overwhelming sense to go get the ticket. I had this weird vibe that my numbers would win. I can’t describe it. I said to myself, ‘Don’t be pathetic, get out of the house!’.

“I’m thanking my lucky stars for getting out of the house and buying that ticket; look what’s happened!

“I keep checking my ticket because I can’t believe it. Because it’s unregistered, I’ve placed it safely under my pillow. I can’t let it get out of my sight.

“I feel so lightheaded.”

With $20,000 about to boost her bank account every month for the next two decades, the victorious Victorian was too overwhelmed to make any concrete plans but knew she would book a trip overseas to reunite with her family.

“I phoned my mum this morning, but she didn’t answer because it would’ve been 1.30am. They’ll probably receive a shock when they wake up in the morning thinking that something bad had happened,” she said.

“I can’t wait to tell them and book a trip to visit them – in business class!

“I’ve told another family member and the first thing she responded with was ‘F***!’. It was gold!

“For now, I’ll make myself a cup of tea and calm myself down.”

The winning entry was purchased at Euro Garages Australia – Frankston North, Caltex, McClelland Drive, Langwarrin.

The winning numbers in Set for Life draw 3189 on Tuesday 30 April 2024 were 31, 36, 37, 38, 18, 10 and 33, while the supplementary numbers were 20 and 4.

Across Australia, there was one division one winning entry in Set for Life draw 3189 – one in Victoria.

This marks the 128th Set for Life division one winner nationally since the game began and the third Set for Life division one winner so far this calendar year.
