Most people dream of winning the lottery once in their lives but a Newcastle woman has today taken home a Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize for the second time in less than two years.
The New South Wales retiree won the guaranteed 1st Prize of $200,000 in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1229, drawn Thursday 21 February 2019.
A NSW Lotteries official contacted the woman this afternoon to break the life-changing news.
“Oh are you sure about this?” the woman initially questioned.
“Thank you, thank you so much.
“That’s just absolutely fabulous!”
The regular Lucky Lotteries player revealed this wasn’t the first time she’d received a winning phone call.
“I know it must be hard to believe but I won 1st Prize in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot less than two years ago,” she explained.
“I won $100,000, it was incredible. I can’t believe I’ve picked up the phone to news of another win, and this time double!
“I feel terrific. I said I was flabbergasted last time and I feel flabbergasted again.
“I have no idea how I’ll spend my prize! I’m just so shocked!
The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning entry of one random number at Junction Village Newsagency, Shop 9, The Junction Village, 10-16 Kenrick Street, The Junction.
Junction Village Newsagency owner Sherel Courtney said there had been a lot of interest in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot as the jackpot prize continued to climb.
“So many of our customers have been playing Lucky Lotteries, hoping to snag that $43 million,” she said.
“Although we hope to sell the jackpot winning entry, it’s great to have sold a 1st Prize.
“I’m so excited for our winner and we have no doubt they will enjoy their prize.”
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $43.96 million for draw 1230 while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot is now $3.49 million for draw 10273.
