Ahead of Thursday’s $50 million Powerball draw and this weekend’s $20 million Saturday Lotto Superdraw, The Lott has been studying the stars and can reveal which zodiac sign took home the most division one lottery wins last year (table 1).

In the 12 months ending 31 December 2020, and for the second year in a row, division one wins across all lottery games have orbited around Pisces players. Those born under the water sign between 19 February and 20 March enjoyed the most lottery fortune of all star signs last year, scoring 14.3% of division one prizes.

Wins were written in the stars for Gemini players who took home 9.5% of division one wins, followed closely by Taurus players who snagged 9.2%.

Cancerians may be hoping for a change of fortune and their planets align in the near future; those born between 21 June and 22 July had the least amount of division one wins of all star signs in 2020, with 5.3%.

The Lott spokesperson Lauren Cooney said only the heavens knew if the wins would continue for Pisces players in the coming days.

“Thursday’s $50 million Powerball draw and Saturday’s $20 million Superdraw are on the cusp of a transition to the zodiac sign of Aries,” she explained.

“As the Pisces zodiac ends on Saturday, will their winning streak continue? Or will there be a shift to Aries players or others? We will have to wait and see.

“Whether you believe in horoscopes or not, there’s a chance the stars might align for you in the next few days.  No matter what star sign you are, there’s no doubt your horoscope would read positively if you’re one of our division one winners from either of these draws.”

Ms Cooney said she was looking forward to crowning the next group of division one winners.

“So far this year, Powerball has created three multi-millionaires – the most recent was just four weeks ago when a Mackay man won $50 million,” she said.

“Meanwhile, Saturday Lotto Superdraws are famous for making multiple millionaires. Last month’s Superdraw created eight division one winners and we can’t wait to see how many people’s lives will change after this weekend.

“While it’s interesting to look at the latest winning astrology trends, it’s important to remember that lotteries are fun games of chance. No matter what your star sign is, as long as you have an entry, there’s a chance a win could be in your future.

“For anyone buying an entry, I recommend that you register your entry to a player card or online account. This means your prize is secure and I can give you a call with the life-changing news if you’re holding a division one winning entry.”
