It was seeing ‘confetti’ tumble down the screen of his mobile phone that made a young Canberra man realise he was a division one winner from the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw.
The ACT resident held one of the nine division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Lotto draw 3895, drawn on Saturday 17 November 2018. Each entry took home a division one prize of $456,752.50.
Speaking to a NSW Lotteries official this morning, the man in his 30s couldn’t hide his delight at becoming a division one winner.
“I got up on Sunday morning and had a look at the Lott app,” he said.
“I was looking at my phone and suddenly this confetti started coming down the screen. I didn’t know what was going on.
“That’s when I looked closer at my entry and I could see I won on the very last game on my ticket.
“I can’t quite believe it’s real.”
Overwhelmed by the news of his Lotto windfall, the man vowed he would delay celebrating his win until the prize was safe and sound in his bank account.
“I’m not sure what I’m going to do with it just yet. It’s huge. There’s so much that comes to mind,” he said.
“I’ll wait until it’s in the bank before I do anything. Then I’ll start celebrating!”
The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his entry online at www.thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
So far this calendar year, Monday & Wednesday Lotto and Saturday Lotto have created 159 millionaires across Australia.
The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 3895 on Saturday 17 November 2018 were 26, 19, 31, 30, 6 and 18, while the supplementary numbers were 25 and 16.
Across Australia, there were nine division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 3895.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 150 so far this financial year, including 47 won by NSW Lotteries customers.
In the 12 months to 30 June 2018, there were 290 division one winning Saturday Lotto entries across the Lott’s jurisdictions, which collectively won more than $302.7 million.
