A Manly couple have watched their life change before their eyes, instantly recognising the numbers gracing their television screen on Saturday night were the ones they’ve been marking on their lottery entries for years.
The south-east Queenslanders held one of the five division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4181, drawn Saturday 28 August 2021. Each division one winning entry took home $1,247,527.15.
Sharing their disbelief with an official from The Lott this afternoon, the winning man relived the moment he realised they’d won division one.
“My wife and I were watching tv on Saturday night and the draw results appeared on the bottom of the screen,” he explained.
“They grabbed my attention because they all looked really familiar, just like the numbers I’ve been marking my entries with for years.
“Then I checked my ticket on The Lott app and the prize appeared.
“I couldn’t speak. I couldn’t even stand up.
“My wife kept asking me what was wrong. I couldn’t tell her, I just had to show her the app.
“Far out. I don’t think it has even sunk in just yet.
“It’s been an interesting weekend, that’s for sure!
“We’re going to pay off the mortgage.
“We’re both due for a new car but other than that we will be patient and have a think.
“We would love to travel, though that’s off the cards at the moment. But as soon as we can, we will!
“It’s a massive life changer, there’s no doubt about that!”
His life-changing marked System 7 entry was purchased at Manly West Pharmacy, Shop 9, Manly Mayfair Village Shopping Centre, Manly West.
Manly West Pharmacy owner Chris Davis said the win marked a special milestone for the outlet.
“This is such fantastic news.We were thrilled to hear we’d sold a division one winning entry,” he said.
“Our customers are all so happy to hear the exciting news.
“Congratulations to our winner. We wish them all the very best with their prize.”
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4185 on 28 August 2021 were 17, 30, 22, 23, 19 and 21, while the supplementary numbers were 43 and 32.
Across Australia, there were five division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4185 – two in New South Wales and Queensland, and one in Victoria.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 304 so far this calendar year, including 74 won by Golden Casket customers.
In the 12 months to 30 June 2021, Saturday Gold Lotto created 174 millionaires across Australia.
During this time, there were 341 division one winning in select game name entries across Australia, which collectively won more than $435.21 million.
