A Melbourne couple has revealed they plan to use some of their $1.5 million TattsLotto win to fulfil a long-standing family pact to take the grandkids to Disneyland.

The happy winners held one of the 19 division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4117, drawn Saturday 2 January 2020. Each entry takes home a division one prize worth $1,578,947.37.

Sharing their excitement with an official from The Lott this morning, the thrilled pair recounted the moment they discovered their life-changing win.

“Oh my god! It’s absolutely amazing! It feels so real now you’ve confirmed it. Thank you!” the wife exclaimed.

“We discovered the win last night. The ticket was actually given to me as a Christmas present from a family member, but we hadn’t had a chance to check it.

“It’s been a busy few days with a house full of guests, so it wasn’t until last night after they left that I got a chance to sit down with a cuppa and check the numbers online.

“I checked the ticket and sure enough I saw that I’d won division one.

“I swapped the cuppa for something a bit stronger after that!

“I can’t wait to tell my family. They are going to be so excited they gave me a division one winning ticket!

“I was just saying to my family before they left that this is the year – 2021 is going to be our year! This is a great way to start it?”

When asked how they planned to enjoy their division one windfall, the stoked duo immediately declared it would be shared amongst the family.

“Our kids are the number one priority in life, so we’ll be making sure we help set them up!” the wife declared.

“We’ll also seek financial advice so we can look after ourselves a bit too.

“I’ve been playing TattsLotto for years and also buy an entry every week. Before I started playing, my mum played for years too.

“She always said to me, if she won division one she’d take the kids and me to Disneyland.

“She hasn’t ever had the chance, but I’ve always said that I would do the same thing for my kids.

“So when the borders open and we can travel again, I’ll be using the win to take the whole family overseas and to Disneyland!

“It will be amazing to be able to fulfil the family dream!”

The winning entry was purchased at Williams Newsagency Ballarat, 917 Sturt Street, Ballarat.

Williams Newsagency Ballarat owner Bruce Thomson said the win was a great way to start 2021.

“Our customers are thrilled we’ve had a Ballarat winner!” he exclaimed.

“We’ve decorated the shop and shared the exciting news with our customers.

“We’ve sold five division one winning entries over the past eight years. The last was in August 2019.

“It has certainly put a pep in everyone’s step!

“I couldn’t think of a better way to start the year! Congratulations to our winner!”
