Just over a week after the draw, a Stanhope player has finally discovered they’re a millionaire, coming forward to claim their life-changing Monday Lotto prize.
The New South Wales player held the only division one winning entry nationally in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3962, drawn Monday 6 April 2020, and takes home a division one prize of $1 million.
However, how the region’s newest millionaire plans to spend their windfall will remain a mystery as they have chosen to remain completely anonymous and celebrate in private.
The winner purchased their million-dollar winning entry at Stanhope Newsagency, Shop 77, Stanhope Village, 2 Sentry Drive, Stanhope Gardens.
Stanhope Newsagency owner Anshul Kapoor said he couldn’t think of a better time to win the incredible prize.
“Waking up last week to hear we’d sold a division one winning entry was very special,” he said.
“It’s such exciting news both for us and our customer!
“This is the second division one winning entry we’ve sold.
“Our customers are so happy for us and the winner. They are all hoping they’ll be next.
“Congratulations to them! I hope they truly enjoy their prize with their family.”
The Lott spokesperson Lauren Cooney said the win had come at the perfect time for the Stanhope player.
“Although we may never know how this player plans to enjoy their million-dollar fortune, we are sure it will brighten their week during this uncertain time,” she said.
“Previous winners tell us they love to share their windfall with their family, go on overseas holidays, pay off their mortgage or buy a new home.
“We’re sure they’ll have plenty of time to plan exactly how they’ll enjoy their prize.”
In 2019, Monday & Wednesday Lotto and Saturday Lotto created 203 millionaires across Australia.
The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3962 on Monday 6 April 2020 were 10, 20, 32, 14, 11 and 30 while the supplementary numbers were 4 and 10.
Across Australia, there was only one division one winning entry in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3962 – the winner from New South Wales.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 300 so far this financial year, including 91 won by NSW Lotteries customers.
Between 1 January and 31 December 2019, there were 108 division one winning Monday & Wednesday Lotto entries across Australia, which collectively won $106 million.
