A Mount Gambier woman in her 40s has confessed she has already been shopping for a new block of land after scoring division one in Saturday’s X Lotto draw.
The loving mum held one of the seven division one winning entries nationally in X Lotto draw 3979, drawn Saturday 7 September 2019. Each entry took home a division one prize of $573,928.68.
Sharing her joy with a SA Lotteries official this morning, the winner revealed she had spent her Sunday afternoon happily looking at blocks of land to buy.
“I didn’t quite believe it when I checked on the app on Saturday and realised I had won!” she exclaimed.
“I didn’t expect that kind of shock when I was just sitting at home on the couch.
“We haven’t done anything to celebrate yet as we were waiting for this phone call to confirm the win.
“We went looking at blocks of land yesterday though! That’s how we’ll use the windfall, building a new family home.”
Despite the win, the happy winner confessed she was off to work as usual this morning.
“I’m heading off to work as normal!” she laughed.
“It will be hard to keep the news under my hat as I’ll be smiling from ear to ear but I’ll try.”
The regular player, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her 18-game QuickPick entry online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
