A Nerang man has declared he “literally couldn’t be happier” after discovering the Wednesday Gold Lotto entry he bought last night at the last minute had made him a millionaire.
The Gold Coast player held the only division one winning entry nationally in Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 3961 on Wednesday 1 April 2020 and takes home a prize of $1 million.
Confirming his life-changing win with an official from the Lott this afternoon, the tired but thrilled man admitted he was struggling to concentrate at work today after a sleepless night.
“I’m looking at my online account at the moment and it’s bringing a big smile to my face,” he laughed.
“I literally couldn’t be happier!

“I saw it last night, and my wife and daughter and I kept checking it over and over. We just could not believe it.

When asked how he planned to enjoy his million-dollar windfall, the man said his plans were all about to fall into place.
“Strangely enough, my wife and I have been looking at a new home, so the timing is perfect,” he said.
“We had parked that plan for a little while but now we will certainly put it back in place.
“We will certainly be going on a holiday when everything settles down!
“It is amazing. Completely life changing!”
The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning 50-game QuickPick entry online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
