Nine Brisbane and Gold Coast residents are on cloud nine today after discovering their syndicate scored them division one in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw.

The south-east Queensland players held one of the four division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4059, drawn Saturday 13 June 2020. Each entry took home a division one prize of $1,223,690.37.

In addition to scoring division one, the syndicate’s entry also won division three 30 times and division four 150 times, boosting the group’s total prize to $1,261,629.87.

Each member of the syndicate takes home a share worth $140,181.10.

The division one winning syndicate was established at Moorooka Foodstore, 419 Beaudesert Road, Moorooka.

Moorooka Foodstore owners Ross Kane and Shirley Hollis have been happily breaking the winning news to some of their customers.

“It’s so exciting that nine players get to share in the win,” Ross said.

“We have always run many syndicates for Saturday Gold Lotto draws, however, we only started this System 11 syndicate in April at the start of the lockdown.

“Apart from our winners, many of our customers are excited to see a local win in the lead up this Saturday’s $20 Million Superdraw.

“The winners who have come in so far are regular players that we know well, and we are thrilled for them. One of our winners has played this syndicate every week since we started it, and another was playing it for the first time.

“It’s been a long time since our outlet has had a division one win. We have had seven division two winners in the past three years, so we were thinking a division one win could not be too far off.”

While two shares in the division one winning syndicate were sold at Moorooka Foodstore, the other remaining shares were sold at four other outlets in south-east Queensland:

  • Broadbeach Oasis News, Oasis Shopping Centre, Broadbeach (3 shares)
  • Inala Plaza News, Inala Civic Centre, Inala (2 shares)
  • Lucky Dragon Newsagency, Australia Fair, Southport (1 share)
  • newsXpress Westpoint, Westpoint Shopping Centre, Browns Plains (1 share)
