An Athelstone man is set to leave renting behind and purchase his family a home to call their own after scoring a sensational $1 million in last night’s Weekday Windfall draw.
The Adelaide resident held one of the four division one winning entries nationally in Weekday Windfall draw 4473, drawn Monday 25 November 2024. Each entry scored $1 million.
So far in 2024, there have been 16 major lottery wins in the Western Adelaide region, collectively pocketing more than $17.12 million in prize money.
The doting dad shared he “refused to believe” the winning news until he received a phone call from lottery officials confirming his newfound fortune.
“I don’t think I’ve been better!” he laughed.
“It’s so awesome. One million dollars! I refused to believe it until I received a phone call from The Lott. I haven’t even told anyone, but I’m itching to tell my wife.
“I can’t believe it. It’s so amazing.
"I’ve got four kids. We don’t own a home and have been renting for quite some time, so this will finally let us buy a place to call our own.
“I’ve got a busy day at work today, but it will be hard to concentrate!
“This is the best phone call I’ve ever received.”
His winning System 9 entry was purchased via The Lott app – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
The winning numbers in Weekday Windfall draw 4473 on Monday 25 November 2024 were 12, 17, 42, 14, 39 and 8, while the supplementary numbers were 23 and 25.
Across Australia, there were four division one winning entries in Weekday Windfall draw 4473 – one each in South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and Western Australia.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 400 so far in 2024, including 28 won by SA Lotteries customers.
In FY24, Weekday Windfall (formerly Monday & Wednesday Lotto) created 98 millionaires across Australia.
During this time, there were 108 division one winning Weekday Windfall (formerly Monday & Wednesday Lotto) entries across Australia, which collectively won $107 million.
