A pair of Oaklands Park sisters plan to treat their beloved mother to a top of the range recliner, wheelchair, and anything else her heart desires after their $1 million Monday & Wednesday X Lotto win.

The South Australian residents held the only division one winning entry in Monday & Wednesday X Lotto draw 4240, drawn Monday 5 December 2022 and take home $1 million.

The division one winning entry was unregistered which means officials from The Lott had no way of contacting the dynamic duo and had to wait for them to check their ticket and come forward.

“Woo-hoo! We’ve won X Lotto!” one of the sisters yelled when an official from The Lott confirmed their windfall.

“Oh my god. I feel numb. I can’t think straight at the moment.

“I’m with my mum right now and my sister is rushing in the car to be with us too.

“My sister actually told me to check our ticket to see if we won anything this morning. She said to me, ‘I hope we won the $1 million!’

“The ticket was with my mum the entire time because she purchased it for us yesterday afternoon.

“Funnily enough, we were so close to not getting this ticket because our mum told us to not waste our time. But we persisted – I’m so glad we did.

“As soon as I checked the ticket and discovered we won division one, I rang my sister up straight away and told her the winning news. She thought I was pulling her leg!”

“This changes so much for us. We both rent so now we can look to buy our very own homes.

“We will definitely share this amongst the three of us. We will buy our mum a top of the range recliner and wheelchair too. She can have anything she wants!

“Thank you so much!”

Their winning entry was purchased at Campbell’s Newsagency, Shops 1012/1013 Westfield Shoppingtown, 297 Diagonal Road, Oaklands Park.

Campbell’s Newsagency team member Cherry Herbett said she is over the moon to have sold a division one winning entry to two sisters.
