Fresh crayfish and prawns could be on the celebratory menu for a Port Augusta couple who recently scored a $50,000 Keno prize.

The South Australian duo held a Keno Spot 8 winning entry in draw 364 on Friday 4 June 2021.

“We’re still over the moon, I can tell you that!” the winning woman exclaimed when speaking to an official from The Lott to confirm her prize.

“I put the ticket on, and when I got the counter, they said, ‘you’ve won lots of money!’.

“I didn’t know what I was doing after that.

“We don’t know whether we’re Arthur or Martha today,” the happy husband added.

“We play the same numbers on our Keno entry. They weren’t special numbers, but they are now.

“This means everything to us. It just makes life easier.

“We might have some crayfish and prawns to celebrate.”

The winning Spot 8 entry was sold at Orana Lotto & Newsagency, Shops C&D, Wharflands Plaza, 11 Tassie Street, Port Augusta.

Orana Lotto & Newsagency team member Roylene Noll said she couldn’t be happier for the winning couple.

“Woohoo!” she exclaimed.

“I was so excited when I saw they’d won. I nearly cried with them.

“I think this is the third Keno Spot 8 prize we’ve sold during the past seven years. It’s great to see it go to a regular.

“We wish the pair all the best with their prize.”

In 2020, there were 37 Keno Spot 8, 9 and 10 winners across South Australia who scored more than $5.81 million.

The Spot 10 prize was won twice during this time – a win worth more than $1.3 million was won by a Croydon Park man in February, while a win with more than $2.4 million was won by Taperoo man in November.

Keno is a game whereby 20 numbers are randomly generated from a possible 80. To win a Keno Spot 10 prize, a player must match all 10 of the numbers selected on their ticket against the 20 numbers drawn.
