A Randwick woman in her late 70s is ready to swap renting for real estate, fulfilling her lifelong dream of owning her own house after winning $880,000 in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw.
The Sydneysider held one of the seven division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4631, drawn Saturday 6 December 2025. Each division one winning entry can look forward to a total prize of $888,814.08.
When an official from The Lott called the woman, she was buzzing with excitement.
“I’ve been waiting for your call!” she cheered.
“Oh my god. I can’t believe this. I saw it last night at 12 o’clock before bed, and I just went straight to sleep because I didn’t think it was true.
“You know what! I’m nearly 80 years old, and I’ve never owned my home. It’s always been a dream to own my own house before I die, and now I really will.
“I’m just in shock. My ticket only cost $9.60! I’ve been playing for 35 years, and I always just do a QuickPick.
“I’ll be paid right before Christmas. What a wonderful present!
“I still can’t believe this! This is what you buy tickets for, but you never think it’s going to happen. It’ll change my life.
“You have the best job ever!”
Her winning 10-game QuickPick entry was purchased on The Lott website – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
