A Roselands woman is rejoicing after her weekly tradition of buying $2 Instant Scratch-Its tickets led to a $25,000 win.
The top prize winning $2 Rose Gold Riches Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at Roselands Newsagency, G13, Roselands Shopping Centre, Roselands.
This afternoon an official from the Lott spoke to the winner, who recounted the moment she made her thrilling discovery.
“We usually buy some scratchies from Roselands Newsagency each week,” she explained.
“It’s a bit of a tradition and a treat. We’ve been buying $2 scratchies for years and years.
“When I scratched the ticket and saw we had won, I was shocked. Completely shocked.
“I had to re-check the ticket about 100 times.
“I just couldn’t believe it! There was definitely a lot of stunned silence.
“It was a beautiful surprise.
“Once I realised we really had won, I started jumping up and down! I was so excited.
“I told my family and they were so happy. We went out for a lovely dinner to celebrate.”
When asked how she planned to enjoy her instant win, the overjoyed winner said she’d already started window shopping.
“I have a few ideas on how to spend it!” she laughed.
“I definitely want to help my family out and I want a new car.
“I have already started looking and there’s a few I like, so now I just have to pick which one I want most.
“It’ll definitely be a new car!”
Roselands Newsagency owner Vinay Soni said he was celebrating selling a top prize winning ticket.
“We are very excited,” he said.
“It’s just great news!
“The winners are regular customers, so we couldn’t be happier for them!
“We wish them all the very best and hope they can do something special with their prize.
“We have sold quite a few major prize winning entries in the past and it’s always just as exciting each time.
“Hopefully we sell some more soon!”
In 2019, there were 199 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across the Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $9.7 million in top prizes.
During this same time, Instant Scratch-Its players enjoyed more than 27.1 million wins across all prize tiers worth more than $208.8 million. This equates to more than half a million dollars won on Instant Scratch-Its every day.
