A Bexley airport worker who has been working reduced hours due to the COVID-19 pandemic breathed a sigh of relief this morning after discovering he scored a $1.2 million division one prize in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw.

The southern Sydney player held one of the five division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Lotto draw 4093 on Saturday 10 October 2020. Each entry won a division one prize of $1,292,740.18.

Saturday’s Lotto draw was the first draw since the division one prize pool changed to an estimated $5 million.

When an official from The Lott broke the news to the winner this morning, he declared it would lift a huge weight off his shoulders.

“Thank you! Thank you! This is really really good news!” he exclaimed.

“I had no idea. I hadn’t checked my ticket yet. I play every week, and I never thought I’d win that much. The most I’ve ever won is $1,000.

“I work at the airport, and since COVID-19 I’ve only been able to work one or two days a week, which has been hard.

“I’ll be able to pay off the mortgage and not have to stress about work while I wait for things to get back to normal.

“It’s so good! Such a relief!”

The happy winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his 24-game QuickPick entry at Bexley Newsagency, 443 Forest Road, Bexley.

Bexley Newsagency owner Mohammad Rafiqul Islam said he was excited to sell a history-making division one prize.

“It’s a very exciting moment for us because this is the first time we’ve sold a division one winning entry since we took over the store in June 2019!” he exclaimed.

“It’s also one of the first division one winning entries in the new $5 million Saturday Lotto, so we are pleased to be in The Lott history books for this draw.

“We’ve decorated the store with balloons and posters, and we’ve been telling all of our customers. They are definitely very happy for us! They hope more division one winning entries come to their community!

“Congratulations to our winner. We wish him all the best! I hope it allows him to live his dream and lead a good life.”

Last financial year, Saturday Lotto created 127 millionaires across Australia.

The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 4093 on Saturday 10 October 2020 were 34, 12, 37, 24, 5, and 26 while the supplementary numbers were 3 and 2.

Across Australia, there were five division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4093 – three from New South Wales and two from Western Australia.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 311 so far this calendar year, including 80 won by NSW Lotteries customers.

Between 1 July 2019 and 30 June 2020, there were 318 division one winning Saturday Lotto entries across Australia, which collectively won more than $346.12 million.
