A recently retired Helensvale woman has been pleasantly surprised to discover she won $200,000 on the second lottery ticket she’d ever bought.
The Queensland player took home the guaranteed 1st Prize of $200,000 in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1373, drawn Tuesday 2 July 2019.
Confirming her win with a Golden Casket official this afternoon, the woman was still in shock after checking her ticket more than a week after the draw.
“I’m very shocked and I’m very, very excited!” she laughed.
“This is only the second lottery ticket I’ve ever bought!
“It’s amazing, it’s absolutely amazing.
“I really need some good luck at the moment so this is the best news!
“I’m very, very pleased.”
The winner revealed she had only recently retired and her windfall had arrived at the perfect time.
“This will make things so much easier for me,” she said.
“I can’t wait to treat my family and I will probably take a nice holiday.
“I might be able to upgrade my car as well!
“I also have a couple of charities that I support so some of my prize will definitely go there as well.
“This has been the most pleasant surprise!”
The happy player, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning ticket at newsXpress Runaway Bay, Shop 35, Runaway Bay Shopping Centre, 10-12 Lae Drive, Runaway Bay.

The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $80.92 million for draw 1384 while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot is now $2.32 million for draw 10299.
