A Shoalhaven man has had the great pleasure of telling his family that the syndicate they’ve been playing for 15 years won them division one in last night’s Lotto draw.

The New South Wales family held the only division one winning entry nationally in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4071, drawn Wednesday 21 April 2021, taking home $1 million.

Confirming their win with an official from The Lott this afternoon, the dad said his family were still in a state of shock.

“Thank you so much,” he said.

“There’s five of us – it’s a family syndicate!

“We put a ticket on once a week. We’ve been doing it for about 15 years.

“I checked the ticket last night on my phone.

“I thought it must have been wrong!

“I called the rest of my family straight away to tell them the news.

“They didn’t say a lot because they couldn’t speak.

“They were dumbfounded! It was crazy.

With $1 million about to be shared between the family of five, the Shoalhaven retiree said it would help them all get ahead.

“I’m retired so I am going to be able to enjoy this throughout my retirement,” he said.

“And for the rest, it will go towards mortgages, renovations and new cars.

“I’m sure everyone has plenty of ideas!”

The life-changing 18-game QuickPick was purchased at Bomaderry Newsagency, 59 Meroo Street, Bomaderry.

Bomaderry Newsagency owner Sue Lees said she was over the moon for the local family.

“This is such great news,” she exclaimed.

“We were very excited when we’d heard we’d sold this division one winning entry and it’s even better to know a group of locals have shared it.

“The region has really been doing it tough this year so this is welcome news.

“It’s great for the entire community!

“Congratulations to them.”
