A private syndicate of six south-western Sydney colleagues have discovered winning is better when you do it together after sharing in an incredible $1.2 million Saturday Lotto windfall.

The New South Wales residents held one of the eight division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Lotto draw 4365, drawn Saturday 20 May 2023, and took home $1.25 million.

“No, no, no, no! This has to be fake. I can’t believe it!” one of the winning colleagues exclaimed when an official from The Lott called to confirm their windfall.

“We’re screaming! How are we meant to go back to work after this?

“Honestly, this isn’t a regular thing. We sometimes all go into a draw together.

“None of us ever expected to win!

“Three of us had to check the entry on three different phones before we allowed ourselves to believe this had happened.

“I know personally I’m going to go and buy myself a new car but who knows what my friends are going to do!

“It’s amazing. Thank you so much!”

The group’s winning entry was purchased at IGA Hammondville, 48 Walder Road, Hammondville.

IGA Hammondville owner Iftkar Khan said he was delighted to have sold a division one winning entry.

“We’re really happy and have been telling all our customers that we’re lucky,” he said.

“We’ve sold a few division one winning entries over the years but it’s always good to have another.

“We’re so pleased for our winners and wish them all the very best.”
