A young Cabramatta man has happily admitted he hasn’t slept a wink since discovering he won more than $874,000 in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw.
The Sydney resident held one of the five division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Lotto draw 4017, drawn Saturday 18 January 2020. Each entry took home a division one prize of $866,693.67.
In addition to scoring division one, his marked System 7 entry also won division three 6 times, boosting his total win to $874,019.07.
This morning a NSW Lotteries official contacted the winning Sydneysider, who was still in shock from making the discovery on Saturday night.
“Thank you so much,” he laughed.
“It hasn’t sunk in yet. It feels so surreal!
“I haven’t slept a wink since I checked my account on Saturday night. I was just so shocked.
“I kept logging into my online account to see if the win was real. Even though you’ve confirmed it’s real, it still doesn’t feel like it is.
“The numbers I picked are very special to me, so I am very happy they have delivered me a fantastic prize.
“This is just insane.”
The hardworking man said his windfall would allow him to realise some long-held dreams, including taking some much-needed time off work.
“It’s time to buy a house. I’ve always rented, so I am excited to get something that will be mine,” he explained.
“I think I will take a few months off work and go on a big trip to America.”
The winning entry was purchased online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
In 2019, Monday & Wednesday Lotto and Saturday Lotto created 203 millionaires across Australia.
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4017 on Saturday 18 January 2020 were 35, 10, 34, 3, 24 and 12, while the supplementary numbers were 40 and 38.
Across Australia, there were five division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4017 – two from Western Australia and one each from Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 220 so far this financial year, including 71 won by NSW Lotteries customers.
Between 1 January and 31 December 2019, there were 289 division one winning Saturday Lotto entries across Australia, which collectively won more than $333.41 million.
