A South Melbourne shopper has picked up more than a newspaper after scratching one of the top prizes of $10,000 on a $1 Instant Scratch-Its ticket.
But who the winner is, and how they plan to enjoy their $10,000 bounty, will forever remain a mystery as they have chosen to remain completely anonymous and celebrate in private.
The winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at South Melbourne Lotto, Shop G09, 261 Clarendon Street, South Melbourne.
South Melbourne Lotto owner Chris Wilson said he was thrilled to hear his outlet had sold its second top prize winning Instant Scratch-Its in as many years.
“That’s great news!” he exclaimed.
“It was about mid-way through last year when we sold our last major prize winning ticket. One of our customers took home $25,000 on a $2 Instant Scratch-Its then and it is great to hear we have done it again.
“We hope our winner enjoys their prize and we hope to sell another major prize again soon!”
Instant Scratch-Its spokesperson Bronwyn Spencer said the South Melbourne winner was just one of many Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners from Victoria in recent months.
“While we don’t know what big plans the latest Instant Scratch-Its top prize winner has with this windfall, we do know that for many of our winners, seeing that prize in their bank accounts seeds lots of wonderful possibilities,” she said.
“We look forward to crowning more Instant Scratch-Its winners as there are still a colossal number of prizes across all tiers with our Instant Scratch-Its games.
