A Kelso woman was left in disbelief after narrowly acquiring an Instant Scratch-Its ticket with a top prize of $10,000 thanks to an unexpected twist of fate.

Her $1 Nuts for Cash Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased from Upper Ross Newsagency, T1, 1255 Riverway Drive, Rasmussen.

When an official from The Lott called the triumphant Townsville resident, she shared how the winning moment came about.

“Thank you! I actually almost didn’t get the winning ticket!” she exclaimed.

“You see when I went to buy the Instant Scratch-It, the place I went to had shut its doors for lunch, so I ended up going to a different spot.

“At the time it was annoying but now I couldn’t feel luckier.

“I’m still in shock. It’s crazy.

“It’s even crazier that my father-in-law died on Sunday night, and I got the ticket the next morning.

“I’m not sure what it means but the win feels special to me, and it was nice to receive some unexpected positive news in a time of sadness.

“I’ll be able to put the money towards a new second-hand car for myself.

“My current one’s not doing too well, and I need it for work, so this is a huge help.”

The Upper Ross Newsagency team said they were overjoyed to have sold a top prize-winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket and wished their winner all the best with their prize.
