A Wagga Wagga woman has just realised she gifted herself an unforgettable Christmas present, a $25,000 Instant Scratch-Its prize.
The top prize winning $2 A Latte Cash ticket was purchased at Nextra Sturt Mall, Shop 21, Sturt Mall, Wagga Wagga.
Sharing her excitement with a NSW Lotteries official this morning to confirm her windfall, the woman revealed the winning ticket sat in her wallet unscratched for weeks.
“It was very exciting!” she laughed.
“It was possibly one of the most exciting things that has ever happened to me in my whole life!
“I actually bought the ticket on Christmas Eve but I had it in my wallet for weeks before I even thought to scratch it.
“I couldn’t believe that I had $25,000 in my wallet all that time. I wish I had known earlier!
“When I scratched it I couldn’t process what I was seeing. I just stared at the winning symbol.
“It was lovely! Such a great surprise.
“It still feels surreal!”
When asked how she planned to enjoy her instant windfall, the winning woman said plans were already in motion.
“We’re going to use our prize for some renovations around the home,” she explained.
“It arrived at the perfect time and we can’t wait to enjoy it!”
Nextra Sturt Mall employee Payge Dale said the outlet was enjoying a winning streak.
“It’s amazing news to hear we’ve sold this top prize!” she exclaimed.
“We only sold a Saturday Lotto division one winning entry late last years.
“Congratulations to our latest winner! We hope she really enjoys her prize.”
In 2019, there were 114 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across the Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $9.61 million in top prizes.
