Twenty-three years of persistence have paid off for a Wollongong woman who explained her emotions were running high from the moment she realised her marked entry had scored her a division one Lotto win.
The New South Wales winner held the only division one winning entry nationally in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4070, drawn Monday 19 April 2021, taking home $1 million.
Confirming her win with an official from The Lott this morning, the woman explained she’d had a sleepless night.
“Thank you very much,” she laughed.
“It feels so strange.
“I checked my entry online last night. I couldn’t sleep after that. I think I was a little bit shocked.
“My emotions were so high!
“For 23 years I’ve used the same numbers. I’ve still got the original ticket that I first marked all those years ago.
“I was persistent in using the same numbers all this time and I’m going to keep playing them going forward.
“I’m so happy. I’m trying to be cool about it but it’s very hard!”
When asked how she planned to enjoy her million-dollar fortune, the loving mum said it would be enjoyed by many.
“I’m going to pay off the house and then make a few improvements around the place,” she said.
“And I will be able to share some with my children.
“It will be a huge help.”
The life-changing marked 15-game entry was purchased online at thelott.com – Australia’s officiallotteries.
The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4070 on Monday 19 April 2021 were 5, 1, 29, 44, 12 and 18 while the supplementary numbers were 17 and 39.
