A young Narraweena man is excitedly planning a future extended overseas holiday after discovering he won one of the top prizes of $200,000 on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket.
The top prize winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at Narraweena Newsagency, 103 Alfred Street, Narraweena.
This morning an official from the Lott spoke to the man, who was still struggling to comprehend he had won $200,000.
“I was so shocked when I saw I won! I still am really,” he laughed.
“I honestly couldn’t believe it! I checked it so many times, and then I got my whole family to check it as well.
“It just felt so surreal. You never actually think it will happen.
“I am going to have some beers once I see the money in my account.
“I can’t do too much at the moment, but I will do something nice with my family to celebrate.”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his instant windfall, the Sydney man said he couldn’t wait to start travelling again.
“I am going to put some into investments,” he shared.
“But I want to do some travelling, once we finally can again. I’d love to take a few months off work and go on a big holiday overseas.”
Narraweena Newsagency owner James Li said he couldn’t be happier for his winning customer.
“The winner came in here. He was so excited when he checked it and realised he really had won,” he said.
“It was a great moment. He is a very deserving winner.
“We are very happy for him and we wish them all the best with their prize.
“We can’t wait to sell another major prize winning ticket.”
In 2019, there were 199 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across the Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $9.7 million in top prizes.
During this same time, Instant Scratch-Its players enjoyed more than 27.1 million wins across all prize tiers worth more than $208.8 million. This equates to more than half a million dollars won on Instant Scratch-Its every day.
