A young Parramatta man’s lunch break tradition has turned into a recipe for success after he scored $920,000 in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw.
The Sydneysider held one of the seven division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4627, drawn Saturday 22 November 2025. Each division one winning entry took home $921,766.49.
As the winning entry wasn’t registered to The Lott Members Club, officials from The Lott had no way to contact the winner and had been waiting for him to check his ticket and come forward.
When speaking to an official from The Lott, the thrilled winner shared he was still floating on cloud nine.
“I’m feeling very blessed and just so grateful for everything that’s happened!” he said.
“It’s pretty exciting. I’m young, so I’m just going to be wise with it and set myself up for the future.
“I can save it and get a head start. It’s amazing.
“I play regularly. I work in the city, so I usually just pop to the newsagency on my lunch break and get myself a $10 ticket. It’s pretty routine for me.
“When I checked my ticket on Sunday, I knew it was a winning ticket, but not how much it had won as the prize amount was not available.
“I thought it was a bit unusual, but I just remember thinking maybe it was some sort of processing thing because it was a Sunday and I didn’t really think much more of it.
“Then I checked it again yesterday and that’s when I realised, I’d actually won!
“I’m still in a bit of shock.”
The hardworking winner said the timing couldn’t have been better.
“It’s really come at a very good time towards the end of the year,” he said.
“I’ve been working really hard lately so now I’m just going to let it sink in and enjoy the month of December. Thank you so much!”
His winning entry was purchased from Australia Square Newsagency, Level 4 Australia Square, Shop 407, 264-278 George Street, Sydney.
Australia Square Newsagency owner Dian Wang said he and the team were thrilled to sell a division one winning ticket.
“It’s very exciting. We’ve been telling all our customers to check their tickets,” he said.
“It’s great that the winner has come forward. Everyone is very happy about the winning news because we have lots of people come all the time.
“The last time we sold a division one winning ticket was about three years ago.
“We hope to sell another winning ticket soon. A $100 million one would be nice!
“Thank you to all our customers for their support and congratulations to the winning person!”
The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 4627 on 22 November 2025 were 7, 31, 15, 39, 42 and 12, while the supplementary numbers were 5 and 8.
Across Australia, there were seven division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4627 – three in New South Wales, two in Victoria and two in Western Australia.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 386 so far in 2025, including 111 won by NSW Lotteries customers.
In FY25, Saturday Lotto created 165 millionaires across Australia.
During this time, there were 341 division one winning Saturday Lotto entries across Australia that collectively won more than $420 million.
