A trio of brothers from Richmond are thanking a 40-year tradition of playing the same TattsLotto numbers together for scoring them a division one prize worth over $511,000 in the weekend’s draw.

The private family syndicate held one of the 10 division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4089, drawn Saturday 26 September 2020. Each division one winning entry took home a prize of $511,318.20.

Sharing his excitement with an official from The Lott, one of the brothers recounted the feeling of breaking the life-changing news to his family.

“The win will be shared between my two brothers and me,” he explained.

“It’s a great amount of money. It will be a nice bonus!

“We play every week! We’ve been playing these same numbers for 40 years.

“I don’t remember why we chose these numbers exactly. All I know was 40 years ago we each wrote down numbers and selected a ticket to play. We’ve been playing ever since.

“Yesterday after I checked the ticket, I spent about 10 minutes double-checking it to make sure it was right, and I hadn’t made a mistake.

“I checked the ticket a number of times before checking the website a number of times.

“I just wanted to make sure it was confirmed and re-confirmed before I told them.

“Once I realised it was true, I had the honour and pleasure of telling my brothers we were division one winners.

“It was a great feeling to be able to call them and let them know!”

The winning entry was purchased at Winning Post, 136 Swan Street, Richmond.

Winning Post owners Paul Vo and Loan Nguyen said they were thrilled to have sold another division one winning entry.

“This is the third division one winning entry we’ve sold at our outlet this year!” they exclaimed.

“The last two division one winning entries were syndicate shares for draws in May and September respectively.

“We’ve been in the business of selling lottery tickets since February last year, so we are very happy to have had so many winners so quickly.

“We are very happy for our winners, and we wish them all the best with their prize!”

Last financial year, TattsLotto created 127 millionaires across Australia.

The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4089 on Saturday 26 September 2020 were 28, 7, 36, 1, 42, and 22 while the supplementary numbers were 14 and 11.

Across Australia, there were ten division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4089 – four each from Queensland and Western Australia, and one each from Victoria and Tasmania.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 298 so far this calendar year, including 117 won by Tatts customers.

Between 1 July 2019 and 30 June 2020, there were 318 division one winning TattsLotto entries across Australia, which collectively won more than $346.12 million.
