A retired Bentleigh man has never been happier he was feeling under-the-weather over the weekend because it led him to purchase a division one winning TattsLotto entry which yielded him almost $1 million.

The Melbourne man held one of the seven division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4095 drawn Saturday 17 October 2020. Each division one winning entry took home a prize of $928,725.17.

Speaking to an official from The Lott this morning, the man couldn’t contain his elated laughter upon hearing the news.

“Oh sh*t! Is that right? Over nine hundred thousand!” he said while giggling.

“I’m an old bloke, and you could’ve given me a heart attack.

“I’m very elated! I didn’t think I had won anything!

“I normally play a System 7 entry. I’ve been playing that for about 40 years.

“I usually buy my ticket from my local post office, but on Saturday I wasn’t feeling well, so I did the right thing during the lockdown and stayed at home.

“I grabbed a QuickPick online instead, and I can see it right there on game 30! That’s where I won!”

The happy man was so thrilled he immediately started shouting the good news to his family members.

“I’ve won the lotto! They’re on the phone now!” he yelled excitedly.

“It’s amazing! After all these years!”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his TattsLotto windfall, the regular player revealed he would share it with his beloved family.

“I had been living by myself up on the coast when my son and his family invited me to come and live with them,” he explained.

“I’ve been here a couple of years now, and it’s been wonderful so it will be nice to share it with them to say thank you.

“It will really help set them up! It will be a nice boost to the bank account.

“We’re still in lockdown so can’t do much today. I’ll probably just potter around the house, but tonight I think I’ll treat everyone to a takeaway dinner to celebrate!”

The regular player, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning 50-game QuickPick entry online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.

Last financial year, TattsLotto created 127 millionaires across Australia.

The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4095 on Saturday 17 October 2020 were 14, 12, 8, 38, 5 and 16, while the supplementary numbers were 3 and 17.
