A Richmond man’s recent house clean took an unexpected turn when he unearthed a forgotten Instant Scratch-Its ticket he purchased almost two years ago, only to discover he’d been sitting on a $100,000 win.
The Melburnian’s winning $5 20x The Cash Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at Victoria Gardens Lotto, Kiosk 3, Victoria Gardens Shopping Centre, 620 Victoria Street, Richmond.
The gleeful dad relayed how he uncovered his forgotten fortune while speaking to an official from The Lott.
“I’ve been feeling very lucky since I discovered the win,” he said.
“I bought the winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket nearly two years ago around Chinese New Year.
“Just the other day I was cleaning out the house and found the half-scratched ticket.
“I noticed it wasn’t completed and decided to scratch the rest of the ticket. Next thing I knew I’d scratched my way to a top prize win.
“I rushed around the house showing my family the ticket and none of them believed me. At first, I don’t think I believed myself either.
“I’m so happy I found the forgotten ticket. It was the best surprise.
“It’s going to be a great help. Some of it will be put aside for our kids.”
