A Claremont grandmother has exclaimed in disbelief after she heard the life-changing news she is now a millionaire from winning division one in last night’s Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw.

The happy woman held the only division one winning entry across Australia in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3871, drawn Wednesday 22 May 2019, and takes home the guaranteed prize of $1 million.

This win is the seventh division one winning entry to land in Tasmania so far this year and the fourth division one winning entry from the state in May.

When a Tatts official alerted the winner to her good fortune this morning, the regular player revealed she had to sit down.

“Oh no! Oh yes! Is it true? Dear oh dear! Oh dear! Thank you!” she exclaimed.

“I have to sit down. It’s wonderful news!

“I can’t get over it. You’ve made my day.

“I can’t thank you enough!”

When asked how she planned to spend her Monday & Wednesday Lotto bounty the overwhelmed woman revealed her beloved family was at the top of her Lotto List.

“I’ll use it to look after my family,” she announced.

“I can’t wait to tell them but I don’t think they’ll believe me!”

The regular player said she had no plans to continue her weekly tradition of buying lottery tickets.

“I’ve been playing for a long time and I play every week,” she explained.

“Now I’ve got my big win I won’t play any more!”

The thrilled winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her 18-game QuickPick entry at Claremont Lucky Lotto & TSG Tobacconist, Shop 17, Claremont Plaza, 35 Main Road, Claremont.

Claremont Lucky Lotto & TSG Tobacconist owner Sally Woolley said she was excited to discover her outlet had sold a division one winning entry.

“The next best thing to winning yourself is when one of your regular customers wins division one!” she exclaimed.

“It is pretty exciting knowing you have helped to hopefully make someone’s life easier.

“We’ll be celebrating this win in store with a nice piece of cake.

“We are part of a great community and I think everyone will be really excited and happy for the winner!

“This is the third division one winning entry we’ve sold since we opened in September 2017. The last one was in March 2018.

“It’s really exciting we’ve sold three in less than two years!

“We hope the winner uses her windfall to realise some dreams and that it makes her life easier!

“We feel lucky to have changed some peoples lives in our awesome little community!”
