A hardworking Forest Hill man has been unable to wipe the smile off his face since discovering he scored a half-a-million-dollar division one prize in a recent TattsLotto draw.

The Melbourne man scored one of the seven division one winning entries across Australia in TattsLotto draw 4001, drawn Saturday 23 November 2019. Each entry won a division one prize of $577,792.94.

Confirming his win with a Tatts official this morning, the man revealed he made the life-changing discovery late Friday afternoon.

“I was just sitting at the laundromat while my washing was on when I decided to duck next door to the newsagency and check my ticket,” he explained.

“I scanned the ticket and it said ‘congratulations you’re a winner’ but the guy behind the counter couldn’t tell me how much I had won.

“So I called through to confirm the win and that’s when they told me I’d won over half a million dollars!

“I haven’t wiped the smile of my face since then!

“I finished my laundry, picked up my son and then we went out to celebrate! We had a great night!”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his TattsLotto windfall, the thrilled winner said it would give him a bit of breathing room.

“This win has certainly changed my life!” he declared.

“It feels so surreal to know that I’ll be able to pay off my debts and give myself a bit of breathing room.

“It has come at the perfect time because my work contract will be up at the end of the year and now I can sit back and take some time to think about what I can do next.

“I think I want to use the windfall to invest for the future but there are a few things I’d like to splurge on right now too!”

The regular player, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning entry at Forest Hill Lotteries, Kiosk 17, Forest Hill Chase Shopping Centre, 270 Canterbury Road, Forest Hill.

Forest Hill Lotteries owner Joyce Sharma said she was thrilled her winner had been united with his prize.

“We are so happy for our regular customer!” she exclaimed.

“All of our customers have been asking if we have found the winner, so we are happy to be able to tell them they’ve discovered their win.

“This is the 37th division one winning entry we’ve sold at the outlet since 1982 and we’ve had a big year for wins.

“This year we’ve sold three division one winning syndicate shares in February, June and November. We hope the wins continue for our customers!”
