An Oran Park man says he’ll never forget the moment he checked his Saturday Lotto ticket to discover he was holding a division one winning entry.
The south-west Sydney resident held one of the nine division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Lotto draw 4081 on Saturday 29 August 2020. Each entry won a division one prize of $555,248.73.
Sharing his excitement with an official from the Lott this morning, the tired but happy winner said he’d hardly slept since checking his ticket on Saturday night.
“Thank you so much,” he laughed.
“I’m happy. I’m very, very happy!
“I couldn’t sleep last night because I was so excited. I was just awake all night imagining what I’ll do with my prize.
“I checked my ticket late Saturday night and I instantly felt a sense of freedom and a feeling of relief!
“It was an amazing feeling, one that I will never forget.
“I’ve been playing the same numbers for a very long time, so to have a win like this is as good as it gets.”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his Saturday Lotto fortune, he said he’d already made plans.
“I need a new car for sure and I already know the one I’m going to get!” he exclaimed.
“I’m retired so I will certainly enjoy this throughout my retirement and when I am allowed to travel again, I’d love to go to Queensland.
“I also have a big family so I am sure I will be sharing it as well.”
The happy player, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his marked 14-game entry at Nextra Newsagent, Shop 4E, Oran Park Town Centre, Cnr Oran Park Drive & Peter Brock Drive, Oran Park.
Nextra Newsagent manager Ashley Horrigan said the win marked a special milestone for the outlet.
“This is the first division one winning entry we’ve sold,” she said.
“We couldn’t be happier and we’re looking forward to sharing the exciting news with our customers.
“Congratulations to our winner! We’re really excited for him.”
Last financial year, Saturday Lotto created 127 millionaires across Australia.
The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 4081 on Saturday 29 August 2020 were 16, 13, 25, 44, 40 and 20 while the supplementary numbers were 4 and 28.
Across Australia, there were nine division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4081 – four from Victoria, two from New South Wales, two from Western Australia, and one from Queensland.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 267 so far this calendar year, including 67 won by New South Wales Lotteries customers.
Between 1 July 2019 and 30 June 2020, there were 318 division one winning Saturday Lotto entries across Australia, which collectively won more than $346.12 million.
