A stood-down airline worker from Melbourne has declared that his division one win worth $2 million from the weekend’s TattsLotto draw has landed at the perfect time for him and his family.

The thrilled winner held one of the ten division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4071, drawn Saturday 25 July 2020. Each entry took home a division one prize of $2 million.

Sharing his joy with an official from the Lott this morning, the happy winner recounted how he discovered his life-changing win.

“Lovely! Fantastic! What more can you ask for!” he exclaimed.

“It has actually come at the perfect time for us.

“I’m an airline worker and I’ve recently been stood-down due to COVID-19.

“I saw that there was a $20 million Superdraw and I thought to myself ‘I wouldn’t mind a share of that.’ So I bought a ticket.

“I was sitting at home with my family on Saturday night when I checked my ticket on the app.

“It came up on the screen that I had won $2 million. I didn’t believe it. I just calmly cleared the numbers and casually said to my wife ‘hey, can you check that for me.’

“She scanned the ticket again, and when she saw that we had won, she went into shock. We just kept checking the ticket all day.

“We would have loved to go out to a nice restaurant or something but staying inside is for the greater good, so we popped a bottle of champagne to celebrate instead!”

When asked how the thrilled man planned to enjoy life as a multi-millionaire, he confessed he wouldn’t be splurging on any big purchases.

“The first thing my son asked for was a sports car, but I told him we had to keep our heads on,” he laughed.

“We can’t do much at the moment, but we’ll probably look at moving into a new home in the future.

“This will really set us up for life!”

The stoked bloke, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning entry at Patterson Road Lotto News & Post, 51 Patterson Road, Bentleigh.

Patterson Road Lotto News & Post owner Daniel Nguyen said he was thrilled one of his customers had taken home a division one prize.

“We are very happy for our store and our winner!” he exclaimed.

“This is the third time our store has sold a division one winning entry since we took ownership three years ago.

“We can’t wait to share the happiness of this memorable day with our customers.

“We will be telling our local community that our outlet has done it again! We will be saying we hope the next winner comes from our store too!

“We wish our winner and his family all the best. We hope they are filled with happiness.

“We are so lucky to be here, and lucky to be of service to our wonderful local customers. We can’t thank them enough for their support!”
