A Tenambit shopper is heading into the weekend $100,000 richer after scratching one of the top prizes on a $5 Instant Scratch-Its ticket.
The winning ticket was purchased at Tenambit Newsagency & Post Office, 39 Maize Street, Tanambit.
However, how the winner plans to spend their $100,000 instant windfall will forever be a mystery as they have chosen to remain completely anonymous and celebrate in private.
Tenambit Newsagency & Post Office owner Gwen Enzlin-Taylor said she was really excited when she realised one of her customers had scored a top prize.
“We were so thrilled when the customer asked us to check their ticket to see if they had won because they didn’t believe their eyes!” she exclaimed.
“The winner was in a slight state of shock and joy.
“The staff member who sold the ticket was as excited as the customer.
“We’ve sold a few major prizes in the past but we haven’t had a top prize for a number of years.
“We have heard of other prizes in the area recently and were hoping that one would land here soon and now that it has we couldn’t be more thrilled.
“We send our best wishes to our customer. We hope they enjoy their prize!”
Instant Scratch-Its spokesperson Bronwyn Spencer said the Tenambit winner was just one of many Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners from New South Wales in recent months.
“While we don’t know what big plans the latest Instant Scratch-Its top prize winner has with this windfall, we do know that for many of our winners, seeing that prize in their bank account offers a world of opportunities,” she said.
