$80 million Powerball prize lands in Port Macquarie

A Port Macquarie retiree says the first thing he’ll be doing with his $80 million Powerball prize is upgrading his old TV for a satellite television so he can watch more channels.

The humble man, who only recently retired, was oblivious to his new multi-millionaire status until he checked his emails this morning.

“I think I feel some tears coming on,” he said.

“With so much going on in the world right now. I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed!”

“This is huge for my family. We’ve been through a rough trot. We’ve been battling the drought for years and were affected by the bushfires earlier this year.”

The down-to-earth man shared he had been self-isolating like many across Australia, but that wouldn’t stop him celebrating the life-changing news.

“Actually, I’ve been socially isolating since I retired so I’m pretty good at it!” he laughed.

A Brisbane man is thanking his wife for an unforgettable birthday present, an Instant Scratch-Its ticket worth $100,000.

“We initially thought we’d won $10,000 and we screamed ‘oh my god, this is unbelievable’!” he explained.

“Then we realised we’d miscounted the words and possibly had ten words not nine!

“I checked the ticket about one million times and we literally couldn’t believe what we were seeing.

“It was overwhelming. It was just insane!

“We’ve decided we’re going to put some aside to really treat ourselves and our dog in a fun way.”

Messy accident leads to $1.3 million TattsLotto win for Tasmanian couple

A couple from Tranmere explained it’s their weekly ritual to buy two marked entries in TattsLotto but when they went to make their purchase last weekend, they accidently spilt a coffee on their marked coupon.

The pair opted for a QuickPick instead, which won them $1.3 million in TattsLotto draw 4035.

“We’ve always said when we retired we’d buy a caravan and travel around the mainland of Australia so this win will make that plan a bit easier.

“We also have kids so we will do what we can to help them out as well.

“I don’t think they will believe us when we tell them! No one will! It’s just so unbelievable!”.
